Chemist are the only ones able to handle Alchemy in Astaria. Alchemy can kill when not properly handled. In Astaria, there are no actual doctors, Chemist fill these roles traveling around. Kids who have magic affinity and pass a special test, are enrolled against their will into the Society of Alchemy and Poisons. There is a 20% mortality rate of students who do not handle Alchemy well enough.
Chemist are generally held in high regard in all societies due to their ability to save lives and combat diseases. Since Chemist are also seen at the frontlines of wars and hunting parties, they tend to assist during combat. The Society of Alchemy and Posions issues all graduated Chemist a newly designed wrist launcher known as a Piactus. This weapon is unique to chemist, it requires the user to infuse mana when firing potionades. Potionades are potions converted into smaller size bullets. Since piactus are attached to a wrist, Chemist use conventional weapons as well in their hands. Only certain potions can be converted into Potionades. Elixirs have no affect when not consumed and the exact dosage are too large for a piactus.
After Chemist gain field experience, they can graduate to a full fledged position. These positions include special agents, researchers, instructors within the Society of Alchemy and Poisons. Special agents known as Plague Doctors are sent to combat epidemics, and gather samples in dangerous areas. Inquisitors are field researchers and also help the Society with researching transmutation. The Society of Alchemy and Poisons was established by descendants of the Wise to carry on the knowledge to combat epidemics. The Society of Alchemy and Poisons considers the Darkness an epidemic. All Chemist are allowed to pledge allegiance to guilds or mercenaries as long as they hold no political affilations with established kingdoms.
Chemist are healers using potionades to group heal and injectors to single target heal. Potionades have low mana cost but require a inexpensive potionade while injectors have a medium mana cost and require an expensive syringe. Chemist differs from other healing classes by focusing on aoe heals and debuffing enemy targets. Mutagens are powerful debuffs. Mutagens vary based on the type. If different mutagens are mixed on the same target, they can stun, deal damage, debuff, or slow attack speed. These effects depend on what mutagen is present and what mutagen is being added second. Mutagen combinations is the secondary focus outside of healing. Chemist are the only class to use Alchemy but this makes it so Chemist may only learn one other crafting profession. Chemist don't have long of cast times as Acolytes do and are less reliant on mana.

Potionade: Healing - Shoot a potionade with healing properties at a friendly target. This explodes and heals the target and any friendly targets within a 15 meters radius of the target. Restores 300 health instantly. Cooldown: 16 seconds.
Potionade: Mana - Shoot a potionade with mana properties at a friendly target. This bullet does not explode and restores mana to the target. Cannot cast on self. Restores 100 mana over 20 seconds. Cooldown: 45 seconds.
Potionade: Acid - Shoot a potionade with a corrosive acid at an enemy target. This explodes on impact and affecting the target and any enemy target within a 10 meter radius of the target. This reduces physical resistance by 15% and deals 200 poison damage over 20 seconds. Cooldown: 16 seconds.
Potionade: Lesser Adrenaline - Shoot a potionade with Adrenaline at a friendly target. This bullet does not explode on impact. Cannot cast on self. The friendly target receives 20 focus over 10 seconds and clears any crowd control affects off the target. Cooldown: 30 seconds.
Enhancer: Legs - The chemist injects himself with an enhancing drug that allows him to run 50% faster for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 30 seconds. Shares CD with other Enhancers.
Injector: Regeneration - The chemist injects a target with healing formula that restores 1200 health. Cooldown: 24 Seconds.
Potionade: Mutagen F - Mutagen F explodes on impact and affects any enemy target within a 10 meter radius of the target. Mutagen F reduces movement speed by 12% for 25 seconds. This may stack up to 2 times. If Mutagen S is present, this skill will also stun for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 12 seconds.
Potionade: Mutagen S - Mutagen S explodes on impact and affects any enemy target within a 10 meter radius of the target. Mutagen S deals 125 poison damage over 25 seconds. This may stack up to 2 times. If Mutagen T is present, this skill will reduce enemy attack speed by 25% for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 12 seconds.
Potionade: Mutagen T - Mutagen T explodes on impact and affects any enemy target within a 10 meter radius of the target. Mutagen T reduces hit chance by 5% for 25 seconds. This may stack up to 2 times. If Mutagen F is present, this skill will also reduce movement speed by 50% for 10 seconds. Cooldown: 12 seconds.
Ultimate: Red Plague - Shoot a potionade at the enemy exploding on contact and affecting any enemies within 30 meters. Any enemies caught are immobilized for 15 seconds, physical/magical accuracy reduced by 50% for 15 seconds, and take 400 poison damage over 20 seconds. Cooldown: 600 seconds/10 Minutes.
Tier 2 Advancement Choices
Choice 1: Plague Doctor - More focuses on Mutagen combinations, can begin injector mutagens on self that pulse around the Plague Doctor. Plague Doctor specialize in healing and dealing poison damage.
Choice 2: Alchemist - Alchemist gain the ability to do combat transmutations. These combat transmutes can petrify enemies or reduce an enemy's effectiveness to almost nothing. Alchemist specialize in debuffs and crowd control effects.
